Miles Austin & Santonio Holmes Could Be Free Agent WR Options For The Browns

According to Ian Rapoport of the Network, veteran receivers Miles Austin and Santonio Holmes could both be free agent options for the Browns.

The Browns find themselves in a tough situation right now as their Pro Bowl receiver, Josh Gordon, is facing a suspension that could be anywhere from eight – 16 games for failing another drug test.

Many assumed Cleveland would address the position during the draft, but that wasn’t the case.

Neither Holmes or Austin have found any interest since their respective teams cut them loose for obvious cap reasons.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported last month that Holmes would likely wait until after the draft to sign with a new team, which makes plenty of sense as teams probably wanted to see what happened in the draft before rounding out their rosters.

Austin, 29, totaled 24 receptions for 244 yards receiving over the course of 12 games.

Holmes, 29, caught 23 passes for 456 yards receiving and a touchdown over the course of 11 games.

We have both players listed in our Best Available Free Agents list.
