Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports that the Montreal Alouettes have traded a first-round pick to the for BC Lions for the CFL rights to former Oregon QB Vernon Adams.

  • According to Tom Pelissero, Adams plans to report to the Alouettes at some point in the near future.

Adams tried to catch on with an NFL team after he went undrafted a few weeks ago. Adams worked out for the Redskins and Seahawks, but did not receive an offer from either team.

Adams previously mentioned that he planned to sign with the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League in the event he wasn’t signed by the Redskins.

“I could be like a Warren Moon or Doug Flutie,” Adams said. “All I need is a chance. … If they can stop looking at my height and give me a chance they’d get a teammate with a lot of energy and a great leader.”

Adams, 23, wound up going undrafted on Saturday and is currently among the more notable rookie free agents. It’s actually a little surprising that he’s being forced to try out for teams, but these are both interesting options for him.

In 2015, Adams totaled 2,643 yards passing while completing 64.9 percent of his passes to go along with 26 touchdowns and six interceptions for Oregon. He also contributed 147 yards rushing and rushing two touchdowns.
