More Cuts coming for the Raiders?

ESPN’s John Clayton reports that the Raiders are now 11 million dollars over the cap. They have until March 13th to rectify this situation. The team cut Stanford Routt just last week, but gave Richard Seymour a large bonus to keep him on the roster.

Here are some possible cap casualties for the Raiders (I stress that this is speculation on my part):

Carson Palmer: 12.5 million (it seems that the Raiders are invested into him, but he is the highest paid player and struggled in 2011)

Kamerion Wimbley: 11 million (51 tackles, a career high, and 7 sacks in 2011)

Tommy Kelley: 6 million (27 tackles, lowest since 2007, in 2011)

Hiram Eugene: 2.5 million (0 tackles in 2011)

They should cut them all. I wouldn’t mind if Wimbley stayed, but not at that pay. If hey were able to free up some cap space, maybe McKenzie could lure Flynn over here and Allen could start rebuilding this defense around solid players like Seymour.
