More Talk Of Limited Interest In WR Greg Jennings

Dan Pompei of the National Football Post writes that Packers WR Greg Jennings  figures to find a limited market for services once free agency is open for business.

A couple of front office men informed Pompei that there are concerns that Jennings’ production had a lot to do with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball and head coach Mike McCarthy designing plays to specifically get him the ball. On top of that, Jennings will be 29 years old and Pompei notes that NFL teams are reluctant to commit big money to players that are seeking their third contract.

This news coincides with a previous report that mentioned that Jennings would likely fall short of the $55 million that Vincent Jackson received from the Buccaneers last year.

While there are some obvious concerns with Jennings – age and the recent injuries that he’s dealt with – he is still one of the best route-runners in the league and has been very productive over the course of his career.

The Dolphins have been tossed out consistently as a potential option for Jennings should he become available. We have him listed as the No. 4 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
