“Mutual Interest” Between Chiefs & S Kurt Coleman Regarding Return

Herbie Teope of ChiefsDigest.com reports that the Chiefs met with free agent S Kurt Coleman‘s representative at the Combine and have had “positive” discussions.

  • Terez A. Paylor confirms the meeting and adds that there is “mutual” interest in bringing Coleman back to Kansas City next year.

The Chiefs have also shown interest in retaining DB Ron Parker, who will also be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks, so it appears as though they are trying to gauge the asking prices of both players in advance of free agency.

Coleman, 26, signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs back in September of last year worth 730,000.

In 2014, Colemman appeared in 15 games and recorded 37 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 39 safety in the league out of 87 qualifying players.

We have Coleman listed as the No. 88 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
