Mutual Interest Between Buccaneers & QB Nick Foles

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that there’s mutual interest between the Buccaneers and free agent QB Nick Foles.

Foles would clearly be a backup to Jameis Winston if signed with the Buccaneers, but it appears to be a serious consideration for him.

There has been some talk that a return to the Chiefs could still be an option, so that too is something to keep an eye on.

Foles, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. Philadelphia traded Foles to the Rams back in 2015 in a deal for QB Sam Bradford and he later signed an extension with the Rams.

Unfortunately, Foles lasted just over a year with the Rams before he was released last summer. The Chiefs later signed him to a two-year, $12.5 million contract, which included a $6.75 million option for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Foles appeared in three games and threw for 410 yards while completing 65.5 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
