Mutual Interest Between Saints & CB Sterling Moore In New Contract

Free agent CB Sterling Moore mentioned during an appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio that he’s hoping to get a new contract in place with the Saints, given that there’s mutual interest in a new deal.

“The hope is that we get something done with the Saints,” Moore said. “I want to be there and I know there is mutual interest.

Moore, 27, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Methodist back in 2011. However, he lasted just a few months in Oakland before he was waived a few weeks into the season.

Moore bounced around a bit with the Patriots, Cowboys, and Buccaneers before signing a one-year contract with the Bills back in March of last year. Unfortunately, Buffalo elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Saints signed him to a contract right before the start of the regular season.

In 2016, Moore appeared in 13 games for the Saints and recorded 56 tackles two interceptions and 13 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 65 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players with a solid coverage rating.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
