NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Giants

Cowboys

Cowboys DE Randy Gregory told reporters that it “felt real good” to be back out there playing in a real NFL game after missing the past two years.

“I haven’t played an actual game in basically two years,” Gregory said, via ESPN.com. “Practice is one thing. Conditioning’s one thing. Personal training’s one thing, but actually going out there and be with my guys and at least attempt to make some plays, it felt real good.”

  • Calvin Watkins mentions that Cowboys DL Kony Ealy helped his cause a little bit, but it still might be too late for him to make the team.

Eagles

  • Eagles HC Doug Pederson said that TE Richard Rodgers is going to be “week to week” with a knee injury. (Eliot Shorr-Parks)
  • Eagles RB Donnel Pumphrey told reporters that he’s dealing with an “upper hamstring” injury and while he feels good enough to practice, the team doesn’t want him to re-aggravate the issue. (Jeff McLane)

Giants

  • Jordan Raanan reports that the Giants had interest in CB Orlando Scandrick before he agreed to a deal with the Chiefs on Sunday. Raanan adds that the Giants are far from set at cornerback position at this point.
  • Dan Duggan mentions that it would not be surprising to see the Giants sign a running back this week with some of the injuries they’re managing at the position.
