NFC East Notes: Randy Gregory, Cowboys, Eagles

Randy Gregory

  • However, no formal disciplinary complaint had been filed as of Thursday morning regarding or resulting from any alleged violation.
  • Gregory has been regularly re-evaluating his clinical resources to ensure that his treatment plan is compliant with the NFL’s Substance Abuse Policy and Program requirements.
  • Sources have told the Dallas Morning News that there’s a strong probability that Gregory will be forced to miss an occasional practice or meeting throughout the season to fulfill the requirements of his treatment plan.

Cowboys

Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith said he plans to do “great things” this season.

The Jones family and the Cowboys believed in me. I will return to that (high-caliber player) and more. There are going to be some great things this year,” said Smith, via Jon Machota.

  • In an interview with Mina Kimes of ESPN, Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey said he expected the Cowboys to draft him and believes the coaching staff wanted him but owner Jerry Jones wanted Ezekiel Elliott instead: “I will never play for them unless the Joneses leave.” (Jon Machota)
  • Ed Werder mentions that his understanding of the situation is that Matt Eberflus advocated for Ramsey but the rest of the coaching staff understood the need for Elliott and the positive effect he would have both sides of the ball.

Eagles

  • According to Les Bowen, the Eagles the Eagles had some knowledge that Mychal Kendricks was being investigated.
  • However, he doesn’t know if the Eagles thought he was just going to be a witness against his friend or what.
