NFC North Notes: Bears, Lions, Vikings

Bears

  • The Chicago Bears announced Tuesday that they’ve hired Mark DeLeone as their new ILBs coach.

Lions

  • On Tuesday, the Lions announced that RBs coach David Walker is stepping away from coaching.
  • The Athletic’s Chris Burke writes that the top priority for the Lions this offseason should be adding an explosive playmaker on offense after letting both TE Eric Ebron and WR Golden Tate go.
  • Burke doubts that DE Ziggy Ansah will return unless it’s on a much more cap-friendly deal.
  • Burke anticipates the Lions using a second-round tender on upcoming restricted free agent DE Romeo Okwara
  • If neither G T.J. Lang or S Glover Quin end up retiring this offseason, Burke expects both to become salary cap casualties, as well as potentially RB Theo Riddick

Vikings

  • Per Benjamin Allbright, the Vikings coaching staff have some interest in West Virginia QB Will Grier
