Cardinals

Cardinals new HC Kliff Kingsbury said Friday he views second-year QB Josh Rosen as a building block for the organization.

“Every time I’ve turned on the tape, there is something you like and something you can build with,” Kingsbury said in an interview with Arizona Sport 98.7, via AzCardinals.com.

There has been a lot of speculation about the Cardinals possibly drafting Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall.

He needs to understand we are in this together and I want him to know he kind of has the keys to the castle and let’s build this deal as a group,” Kingsbury said. “Make sure he is comfortable with what we are doing, if he doesn’t like something that is going on with this offense or the way I’m coaching it, let’s talk about it and come up with the best answer. When (the QBs) have that type of ownership, it goes a long way.”

Saints

  • Mike Triplett of ESPN writes that Teddy Bridgewater returning to the Saints ia a long shot, but can’t be ruled out completely, given that there will be a limited number of teams in the market for a starting quarterback this offseason.
  • It would be tough for the Saints to carry Drew Brees at $23 million for the 2019 season while also paying out $10 million for Bridgewater as their backup. However, it could give them a future successor to Brees when he’s ready to call it a career.
  • Adam Schefter reports that Penn State assistant coach Phil Galiano is joining the Saints as an assistant special teams coach.
