NFC Notes: 49ers, Packers, Panthers, Seahawks

49ers

• According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Bay Area, LB Brock Coyle and DL Tank Carradine are most likely to be next in line for new contracts from the 49ers.
• Maiocco says that RB Carlos Hyde and S Eric Reid are both expected to test the free agent market next month. Although, San Francisco would like to bring them back under the right circumstances.
• We have Carradine, Hyde, and Reid featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Packers

• Pete Dougherty of PackersNews.com writes that his best guess for Aaron Rodgers next contract with the Packers is that it will end up paying him an average of $30 million per year along with the largest full guarantee in NFL history.
• Dougherty spoke to an NFL agent who wondered if the Packers and Rodgers could agree to a three-year deal worth between $90-$95 million but the contract is fully guaranteed.
• Depending on how the Packers structure Rodgers’ contract, it’s possible they will pick up some cap space with this move.

Panthers

• Ian Rapoport reports that interim GM Marty Hurney is the “clear favorite” to be the Panthers’ full-time general manager.

Seahawks

• Brady Henderson of ESPN writes that Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is in line for a new extension and it’s possible he’ll end up securing over $30 million per year when all is said and done.
• As of now, the high-water mark was set by Jimmy Garoppolo at $27.5 million per year. However, Kirk Cousins is widely expected to top that figure once he signs with a team in free agency. From there, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could very set the bar even higher.
• The Seahawks tend to wait until a player is in the final year of his contract to sign them to a new extension, so he’ll have a good idea of what the market is for a top-tier quarterback.
