NFC Notes: 49ers, Panthers, Rams

49ers

49ers GM John Lynch said they “made every effort” to trade for DE Khalil Mack and their offer was “very similar” to what the Bears gave up to get him.

“We made every effort to try to secure his services,” Lynch said, via Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. “… We went in there and we went in there hard. Our offer was very similar to the one that ultimately won out. I don’t know what went into the Raiders’ mind-set in terms of where they sent him. But that was one we knew we had a game-changer.

Panthers

  • Panthers DE Marquis Haynes has been ruled out from Week 6 and is not traveling with the team to the Redskins. (Max Henson)
  • Panthers HC Ron Rivera said Haynes is missing Week 6 due to a “family-related illness.” (Joe Person)

Rams

  • The Los Angeles Rams announced that WRs Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp have cleared concussion protocol and will play in Week 6.
