Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters on Monday that they haven’t ruled out possibly signing QB Colin Kaepernick at some point.

“We’re still battling on all fronts on all guys,’’ Carroll said, via the Seattle Times. “Still looking at guys and evaluating. There are still free agents that we are looking at. We have kind of one through the information gathering and we kind of have a pretty good feel for where we are. It’s ongoing. We are not done with that decision at all. We’re still watching him.’’

  • Seahawks GM John Schneider said that they expect K Kam Chancellor to have his next scan in “late June, early July” to determine if he’ll be able to resume his career.
  • As for DL Malik McDowell and the reports that they’re expected to waive him, Carroll said they’re still waiting to see what happens and hoping for positive news: “We’re waiting to see what happens and we’re hoping we get good information soon. Unfortunately—I’ve said this to you guys 100 times it seems like—we don’t have anything new for you. We don’t have an update that makes us a call how we’re going to deal with this yet. It’s not available to us. We just have to keep waiting. We can’t expect that he’s there at this point until we get him back. We’ve got to get him back in the building where he can work and all that, and right now we don’t have the opportunity to tell you that.

Vikings

  • According to Chris Tomasson, many believe the Vikings will pick up CB Trae Waynes‘ fifth-year option for 2019 worth $9.069 million before the May 3 deadline.
  • Tomasson says that the Vikings are taking a close look at Texas CB Holton Hill as a potential mid-round draft pick.
