NFC Notes: Bears, Cardinals, Packers

Bears

Bears OLB Leonard Floyd (knee) says he’s feeling great and expects to be ready to fully participate in training camp.

“I feel great,” Floyd said, via the Chicago Sun-Times. “I’ve been up here the whole offseason, working hard, trying to get back in shape, trying to get my leg right so I can be ready for the season. I’m ready to get to training camp, put the pads on and see how I do.”

Cardinals

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that Cardinals RB David Johnson missed practice time this week with an undisclosed injury.

Johnson wound up watching Thursday’s voluntary practice, but Cardinals HC Steve Wilks wouldn’t offer any details regarding his absence.

“It’s the offseason, and I’m not going to really indulge in injuries or things like that,” Wilks said. “We’re going to talk about the guys that are out there.

Somers is hearing that Johnson’s unknown injury isn’t not considered serious.

Packers

Packers veteran CB Davon House says he expects second-year CB Kevin King, who underwent offseason shoulder surgery, to take a “big jump” in 2018.

“I think it’s going to be a big jump for him,” House said of King, via ESPN.com. “I’m excited to see what he looks like healthy because last year he was banged up the whole year, and I thought last year he wasn’t bad at all for a rookie. So I’m excited to see what he brings this year.

New Packers DC Mike Pettine mentioned that King has great size for the cornerback position.

“It’s hard to tell at this point because I know a lot of the film from last year, that he was playing essentially with one arm,” Pettine said. “Just in talking to Joe and Jason, they think the world of him and think the ceiling is real high there. Just looking at him, it surprised me; I didn’t realize how tall he is until I met him in person. Just with receivers getting bigger and bigger — just look at the guys we’ve got to cover in practice — it will be nice to have a corner with that size and length.”
