NFC Notes: Bears, Eagles, Lions, & Seahawks

Bears

  • According to the Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are “optimistic” first-round WR Kevin White (shin splints) will be ready for Week 1, but it will ultimately come down to how his shin will respond in the coming weeks.

Eagles

Eagles QB Sam Bradford admitted that he wasn’t sure if his surgically repaired knee would hold up.

I think I feel better than what I was expecting,” Bradford said Thursday, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. “I thought my knee would hold up, but I wasn’t sure.”

Bradford added that the true test will come in real game situations.

“You know it’s hard to simulate those game situations,” he said. “We can do a little bit of it in practice but until I’m able to get hit, you really can’t simulate when the pocket breaks down and you gotta make a hard hitch up and then scramble. But I’ve been put in a few of those situations so far, and I felt like my knee has held its own.”

Lions

  • Michael Rothstein of ESPN notes that second-round RB Ameer Abdullah and seventh-round OT Corey Robinson seventh-round pick have stood out in recent practices.
  • LB Josh Bynes received some work with the first-team defense on Thursday.
  • Rothstein mentions that free agent acquisition DT Tyrunn Walker is a player to keep an eye on this summer.

Seahawks

Seahawks DT Jesse Williams, who is still recovering from cancer and the removal of a kidney, was activated from the non-football-injury list.

“It’s a very, very long process,” said Williams, via ESPN.com. “I can control my mindset and how I come out here and work. That’s what I’m going to do. Come out here and do what I need to do and show the coaches.
