NFC Notes: Buccaneers, Lions, Rams

Buccaneers

Despite losing to the Panthers on Sunday, Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the team’s starting quarterback in Week 10.

“Ryan’s our starter next week,” Koetter said, via ESPN.com. “Ryan had one [bad play] there in the first half — an overthrow on that one interception that we’d like to have back — but did a good job of leading us back.”

Lions

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Lions tried to lock up WR Golden Tate long-term before they traded him to the Eagles.
  • According to Rapoport, Lions GM Bob Quinn would only trade him for a third-rounder and after the Eagles made the offer, he felt the value was too good to pass up.

Rams

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Rams expect newly acquired OLB Dante Fowler is expected to step in and make an immediate impact.
  • Rams GM Les Snead told Rapoport that Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell reached out to him after their London trip about trading Fowler.
  • According to Rapoport, Fowler was late for a meeting leading up to their game in London, which proved to be the impetuous for trading him to the Rams.
