NFC Notes: Cardinals, Panthers, Redskins, Vikings

Cardinals

  • Cardinals HC Bruce Arians said of the possibility QB Carson Palmer could return from injured reserve: “I would never kill it because it’s Carson and it’s Seattle. But we are close to killing it.” (Mike Jurecki)

Panthers

  • NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart said Monday that owner Jerry Richardson‘s decision to sell the franchise will not impact their investigation into the misconduct allegations against him: “No. We are moving forward with the investigation.” (Ian Rapoport)
  • Adam Schefter reports that the Panthers are expected to sell for around $2.5 billion.
  • Richardson purchased the franchise $206 million back in 1993.

Redskins

Vikings

  • Tom Pelissero mentions that it’s possible the Vikings could give Teddy Bridgewater more playing time for their season finale against the Bears, assuming there’s nothing to play for at that point.
  • The Vikings have already locked up the NFC North and the Packers could very well be starting a backup quarterback in Week 16 if they’re out of the playoffs, so it would make sense for the Vikings to use this opportunity to see what Bridgewater could do with an extended look, considering that he’ll be an unrestricted free agent next year.
