NFC Notes: Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks

Cardinals

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald tells TMZ that Kliff Kingsbury is a “hell of a coach” and he’s excited to meet him.

“Hell of a coach,” Fitzgerald said. “Look at his resume. He’s innovative offensively. That’s somebody with a future right now. So, I’m excited for the chance to meet him.”

However, Fitzgerald said there’s still no update regarding whether he’ll return for the 2019 season.

“I don’t know yet. Taking time to figure it out still,” Fitzgerald said.

Rams

  • Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times mentions that Rams DT Ndamukong Suh’s contract includes a bonus of $500,000 for playing 65 percent of their defensive snaps and making the playoffs.
  • From there, Suh can earn another $250,000 with a playoff win and an additional $250,000 for a second playoff win, which means a Super Bowl appearance for the Rams would earn Suh an extra $1 million.
  • We have Suh featured in our Top 50 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.

Seahawks

While his rookie season didn’t go as well as he may have hoped, Seahawks LB Shaquem Griffin believes he can build off of his rookie year and better in 2019.

I feel like I can come in, go to work, know what I need to work on to not only be a special teams player, but a key player on defense,” Griffin said. “… Working on being able to call out plays before I see them, being able to communicate well. Those are the most important things, because if you can communicate and get guys in the right spot, there’s no reason why you can’t get things done. I feel like that’s a very important part of my game, and make sure I keep the speed and make sure I keep the aggressiveness.”

  • Brady Henderson mentions that the Seahawks’ decision to sign Paxton Lynch to a futures contract doesn’t necessarily mean that they plan to move on from Brett Hundley, who is a free agent this offseason.
