NFC Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Falcons

Cowboys

Jeff Sullivan of DallasCowboys.com mentioned in reply to a question about HC Jason Garrett that it “sounds like another extension could be signed soon he’s not going anywhere.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked about Sullivan‘s comment and the possibility of Garrett getting an extension on Tuesday.

I don’t know where Jeff is getting his information,” Jones said in an interview with 105.3 The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. “He’s pulling one out of the air there as far as any knowledge. My response should not in any way indicate that I’m thinking about it or whether it’s going to be there, it’s just not something that I would have visited with anybody about, least of all Jeff.

“I happen to know that I’ve never spoken to another soul about that as far as that is concerned.”

Eagles

Eagles OC Mike Groh said he’s hoping to get WR Mike Wallace (broken leg) back from injured reserve later this season.

Hopefully, Mike’s progressing and we get a chance to get him back here this season,” Groh said, via NBC Sports Philly.

Falcons

Falcons HC Dan Quinn explained the team’s decision to place RB Devonta Freeman on injured reserve with foot and groin injuries.

“Following the game against Pittsburgh, where Devonta injured his foot, we thought he was just having general soreness in his groin area,” said Quinn. “As the week went on it continued so we decided to have him get some tests. It has been determined that he will need a procedure that will result in us placing him on injured reserve. We are hopeful he will be able to return this season, but we will have a better feel for that in the coming weeks.
