NFC Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Panthers

Cowboys

Cowboys LB Sean Lee is well aware of the fact that he’s going to have to step up in terms of being a leader for the team after they’ve lost some notable veterans in recent years including TE Jason Witten.

There is no question that I need to step up because he’s gone,” Lee said last month, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News.

“I think it’s a responsibility for me, similar to how it was for Jason Witten,” Lee added. “Jason kind of set the tone for us. Not only did he set the pace leadership-wise, but he also knew that you had to pass the leadership down and you had to be gracious and try to help guys. That’s something I am really trying to do also. If you want to have a great team, the leaders got to bring guys in. You can lead by example, but you’ve also got to get the young guys working the right way too.”

Eagles

Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com updated his 53-man roster projection on Monday.

Panthers

  • Following the news that the sale of the Panthers franchise to David Tepper was finalized on Monday (NFLTR), the team also announced that COO Tina Becker has resigned from her position with the team after 19 seasons.
  • The Panthers currently do not have a replacement lined up for Becker, but it’s clear that Tepper is starting anew in Carolina now that he’s assumed control of the team.
