NFC Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Panthers

Cowboys

Cowboys running back Darren McFadden announced Monday that some of his relatives were shot at a club in Little Rock, Arkansas, which is why he was seen on video outside of the venue.

28 people were injured after gunshots rang out during a concert early Saturday morning.

Eagles

Eagles S Terrence Brooks isn’t taking anything for granted in his first full year in Philadelphia and believes he still has a lot to prove to the coaching staff.

I feel like I can go in there and be counted on to make a big play when they need it,” Brooks said, via Philly.com. “I’m just trying to gain the trust between the coaches and the players. At the end of the day, I’ve got a lot to prove to myself as a player about what type of player I want to be and what I want to accomplish here.”

“I’m new to the team, and they haven’t really seen me on the defense,” Brooks added. “I wanted to go out there and leave a great impression about what I can do and control everything I can control.”

Panthers

  • Max Henson of Panthers.com would be surprised to see Greg Olsen and his desire for a new contract that pays him as one of the top tight ends in the NFL develop into a “distraction” at the start of training camp.
  • Even with two years remaining on his contract, Olsen still feels he deserves to be made a salary in line with the best tight ends in the league. (NFLTR)
