NFC Notes: Eagles, Falcons, Giants

Eagles

  • Eagles HC Doug Pederson mentioned Wednesday that he expects LT Jason Peters to play Sunday, despite leaving Sunday’s game with a quad injury. (Mike Garafolo)
  • Regarding QB Carson Wentz, Pederson reiterated: “I want him to understand that, ‘hey, he’s our guy.’ He’s the guy we drafted and moving forward, he’s our quarterback. I don’t have to sit there and keep encouraging – he knows that.” (Zach Berman)
  • Pederson said of RB Darren Sproles returning next year: “I think anybody would love to have a Darren Sproles. I know I would.” (Zack Rosenblatt)

Falcons

  • Falcons HC Dan Quinn said during an interview with 92.9 The Game that WR Julio Jones (hip/rib) and RB Tevin Coleman (groin) will be held back during practice this week due to injuries but have not been ruled out for Sunday’s finale against the Buccaneers. (Vaughn McClure)

Giants

Giants HC Pat Shurmur told reporters on Wednesday that he isn’t thinking about Sunday’s game as being QB Eli Manning‘s final game with the team.

“No, not really. Eli’s our starter, Eli gives us our best chance to win and he’s going to play on Sunday,” Shurmur said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “I think when the game is over we start talking in depth about what’s gonna happen moving forward, that’s when you worry about that. You’re talking to the coach, I’m worried about the game.”

Manning added that he also isn’t thinking about anything else other than their upcoming game.

“I’m just worrying about this game, finishing this season and going out there and playing hard,” Manning told reporters Wednesday, per Ralph Vacchiano.

  • Shurmur said that there’s a chance WR Odell Beckham and LB Alec Ogletree could both be back this week, given that they’re both feeling better.
