NFC Notes: Eagles, Falcons, Saints

Eagles

Eagles OT Lane Johnson believes he can be a top-10 right or left tackle in the NFL.

“I’d say I’m a top-10 tackle in the league, right or left,” said Johnson, via Tim McManus of ESPN. “I’m not trying to be arrogant or anything, but if you go watch the film, whenever I’m playing … my deal is just stay on the field.”

I’m just going to go out there and go show people what kind of tackle I am,” Johnson added. “I think I’m one of the best in the league. Go out there and do a lot less talking and just show people what I can do.

Falcons

  • Field Yates reports that Falcons NT Dontari Poe will earn $125,000 on Tuesday if he weighs in at less than 340 pounds.

Saints

Saints RB Mark Ingram mentioned that the addition of Adrian Peterson won’t change his approach to the season.

It doesn’t matter who’s in the backfield with me, who I’m competing with, I’m always going to give my 100 percent all,” Ingram said, via Mike Triplett of ESPN. “I respect him and everything he’s done. He’s still a great player, he’s overcome a lot of adversity. But at the end of the day, I’m going to compete, no matter who it is. Not afraid of competition, no matter how high on the totem pole they are. I’m always going to compete, I’m always going to give my best.

Ingram added he and Peterson have been helping one another during OTAs.

We help each other,” said Ingram. “He’s new to the system, so I can help him with some play calls and small nuances within the offense. And he’s an elite runner, one of the best that we’ve seen in this game. So just to see how he runs, how he practices, makes us all better.

  • Jeff Zrebiec reports that Towson RB Darius Victor will be participating in the Saints’ minicamp.
