NFC Notes: Eagles, Redskins, Vikings

Eagles

Eagles DE Vinny Curry mentioned during an appearance on 94 WIP that he tried playing through an MCL injury that bothered him throughout the year.

I messed my MCL up,” Curry said, via NJ.com. “I tried to play through it, and in the long run it ended up hurting me. It is going to be a better year, everything has been perfect so far.”

Redskins

Redskins president Bruce Allen told reporters on Monday that they’re getting close finalizing their front office plans.

We met with over a dozen people from the outside, talked to everybody on the inside. We’re getting close to having a final plan,” Allen said, via Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post.

Although, Allen didn’t offer any specifics about hiring a general manager.

“From the beginning, you know, I’m real proud of what the guys did this year in free agency and in this draft,” Allen said. “As I’ve said, we have a lot of quality people who performed well under some tough situations this year. This draft class, the excitement it’s brought to our locker room, it’s exciting, so we’re looking to add to (the front office), we’ll see who that is.”

Allen added that it’s possible they could add as many as three people to their front office once everything is in place.

Vikings

The Vikings announced Monday that HC Mike Zimmer will take a few weeks off following another eye surgery before returning to the team.

Here’s a statement from Vikings GM Rick Spielman:

“As the Vikings begin OTA practices, Coach Zimmer will be taking time away from the team to dedicate to recovering from eye surgery and restoring his health. We all agree Mike’s health is the priority and we believe rest and recovery are in his best interest for the long term. We anticipate Mike back on the field in a few weeks.”
