Saints

Saints RB Alvin Kamara told reporters on Monday that’s fine with his role in the team’s offense and looking to do even more in 2018.

“I’m cool,” Kamara said, via ESPN.com. “I was just talking to somebody the other day [about how] I was watching my highlights for the first time like last week. So I keep moving forward, I’m always looking for what I can accomplish next.

“[That’s] my mentality. Year 2, I’m trying to do more than I did in Year 1. So I’m just ready to play.”

Last week, Saints HC Sean Payton said that it would be a “mistake” to simply increase Kamara’s workload to offset the loss of Mark Ingram for the first four games of the season.

Kamara says he trusts Payton and the coaching staff in regards to their plans for him this year.

“From the beginning, I’ve said, ‘Whatever I have to do.’ I trust Sean and I trust our coaches. So however it unfolds, we’ll just handle it like that,” said Kamara.

Seahawks

While the Seahawks have made major changes to their defense this year, Pro Bowl LB Bobby Wagner said during an interview with 710 ESPN Seattle that he believes people are sleeping on their defense.

“For me, I think a lot of people are sleeping on the talent that we have in the room,” Wagner said. “A lot of people are saying it’s a fresh start. No, it’s just kind of that mentality. We had guys that left for whatever reason and it’s the next-guy-up mentality.
