NFC Notes: Nick Foles, Eagles, Panthers

Nick Foles

  • According to Cecil Lammey of 104.3 The Fan, it sounds like the Eagles will allow QB Nick Foles to walk in free agency, as they don’t have enough cap space to pursue a tag-and-trade scenario.
  • If the Eagles do, in fact, let Foles depart in free agency, they should secure a third-round compensatory pick of him in 2020.

Eagles

Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP ranks the Eagles’ impending free agents in terms of who they should prioritize re-signing this offseason as:

  1. QB Nick Foles
  2. DE Brandon Graham
  3. WR Jordan Matthews
  4. LB Jordan Hicks
  5. RB Darren Sproles
  6. CB Ronald Darby
  7. RB Jay Ajayi
  8. WR Golden Tate
  9. WR Mike Wallace

Panthers

  • Albert Breer says he isn’t overly concerned about Cam Newton’s arthroscopic right-shoulder surgery, as sources told him it was minor in nature and “more of a cleanup than anything else.
  • According to Breer, Newton should be throwing again by the time OTAs kick off in May.
