NFC West Notes: 49ers, Cardinals, Seahawks

49ers

49ers GM John Lynch tells Brian Murphy of KNBR that RB Jerick McKinnon will be out of action until Week 1.

The good news is, it’s not going to be long term. The bad news is, it’s going to take him up to Week 1, our opener, so his opportunity to get more in rhythm in our system, that kind of goes out the door,” Lynch said. “But he’s played a lot of football, and we play a lot of football in the offseason, OTAs and all that, so we’re going to have to trust that he’s going to be ready.”

Cardinals

Cardinals HC Steve Wilks said that they’re expecting big things from their 2016 draft picks including DL Robert Nkemdiche, CB Brandon Williams and OL Evan Boehm.

Anytime you get into that third year, you want to be ready to perform at a high level if you haven’t already and be ready to turn the corner,” Wilks said, via AZCardinals.com. “Nkemdiche, Brandon, all those guys — we’re expecting those guys to step up this year.
