NFC West Notes: 49ers, Seahawks, Doug Baldwin

49ers

49ers RB Matt Breida said “it would mean a lot to me” when asked about the possibility of eclipsing the 1,000-rushing yard mark.

It would mean a lot to me, and not just to me, but to my teammates, the offensive line and how well they’ve blocked this year,” Breida said, via Matt Barrows of The Athletic. “I don’t think those guys get enough credit. That’s the reason why we’re having such success in the running game.”

Breida currently has 632 rushing yards on 113 attempts (5.6 YPC) and scored three touchdowns.

Doug Baldwin

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said WR Doug Baldwin’s groin injury “popped up” on Tuesday and he will be a game-time decision in Week 12.

We’re going to work him out in pregame and make sure that he’s OK. We’ve got him as questionable right now. … It popped up the day I said he’s the best he’s felt all year (Tuesday). His groin kind of acted up on him a little bit, so I’m not going to say that again,” said Carroll, via Curtis Crabtree.

A source tells Ian Rapoport that Baldwin (groin) has a good shot to play.

Seahawks

  • Carroll added that Seahawks LB K.J. Wright (knee) is likely to be out at least another week and there is a “good chance” LB Austin Calitro starts in his spot. (Bob Condotta)
  • Carroll said that Seahawks DE Dion Jordanlooked really good” in practice this week and the long week from Week 11’s Thursday game has helped him heal. (John Boyle)
