NFL Could Reduce Tom Brady’s Suspension To 2 Games Following Greg Hardy Ruling?

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that it will be very difficult for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to keep Tom Brady‘s suspension at four games now that Cowboys DE Greg Hardy has had his 10-game suspension reduced to four games.

Brady received a four-game ban for his role in DeflateGate, but it will be especially hard for the NFL and Goodell to justify a similar suspension for Hardy’s domestic violence case, even though it was eventually settled out of court.

Florio mentions that Goodell now has “no real choice but to reduce the suspension, most likely to two games.

The problem for the NFL and Goodell, however, will be to find a way to reduce Brady’s ban without undermining the Ted Wells report, according to Florio.

Goodell told CNBC earlier in the week that a decision regarding Brady’s appeal of his four-game suspension “is coming soon” and possibly as early as next week.

It’s worth mentioning that the NFL has had four straight appeal decisions overturned, and there’s still a chance that Brady and the NFLPA could pursue a court case if Goodell upholds the current four-game suspension.

We’ll have more regarding Brady and his appeal case as the news is available.
