NFL Draft Rumors: Trent Richardson, Mark Barron, Stephen Hill, Ryan Tannehill, Josh Robinson

Trent Richardson & Mark Barron

Len Pasquarelli of The Sports XChange is reporting that Alabama RB Trent Richardson and S Mark Barron will not participate in Alabama’s Pro Day tomorrow.

Both players were not able to workout at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine because of injuries. Richardson’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, mentioned that he should be able to run scouts by the end of March.

“He started running full speed this week,” Sexton said. “He’s close to ready, but it’s not quite there yet. People should have plenty of time to see him and get a good read.”

Richardson underwent a “minor” arthroscopic surgery on his knee weeks ago but he’s still viewed as the #1 running back in the league.

Barron is also the #1 player at the his respective position and is expected to work out later in the month as well.

Stephen Hill

The NFL Network’s Mike Mayock mentioned that he’s “less concerned” about Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill’s issues with dropped balls and route running.

He’s a hands snatcher,” said Mayock. “He had five or six drops [at Georgia Tech] … but when you watch him catch the football, it’s so natural.”

I don’t think Stephen Hill gets out of the first round,” added Mayock.

No prospect has improved their draft stock more than Hill in recent weeks and there’s a really good chance that he shows up at the back end of the first-round.

Ryan Tannehill

Mayock also mentioned Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill’s “worst-case scenario” is going to the Seahawks at #12.

Mayock believes that he’s got a great chance of going even earlier than that depending on what happens after the first two quarterbacks are off of the board.

Josh Robinson

Mayock spoke very highly of Central Florida CB Josh Robinson who put together a great combine of his own a few weeks ago.

I don’t think there’s any way he’s getting out of the first round,” Mayock said.

I can understand why Mayock likes him so much but it would be pretty surprising to see him go in the first-round. All it takes is for one team to fall in love with him so it’s possible.
