NFL Investigation Determines Peyton Manning Didn’t Use HGH Or PEDs

Update:

Here’s the full release from the NFL regarding Peyton Manning being cleared in the investigation:

Following a comprehensive seven-month investigation into allegations made in a documentary by Al-Jazeera America, the NFL found no credible evidence that Peyton Manning was provided with or used HGH or other substances prohibited by the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, it was announced today.

The Mannings were fully cooperative with the investigation and provided both interviews and access to all records sought by the investigators.

Initiated in January, the investigation was led by the NFL’s security and legal teams with support from expert consultants and other professionals. The investigation involved witness interviews, a review of relevant records and other materials, online research, and laboratory analysis and review.

Separately, the NFL’s investigation continues into the documentary’s allegations made against other NFL players, which involve different lines of inquiry and witnesses.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the NFL’s seven-month investigation determined that former QB Peyton Manning did not use HGH or PEDs like the report from Al-Jazeera indicated.

According to Schefter, Manning was cleared after the investigation and both Mannings cooperated fully. However, the other players named in the report will be investigated this summer.

Ian Rapoport adds that the NFL’s review of Manning involved witness interviews, a review of relevant records, online research, and lab analysis and review.

The allegations where made by Charlie Sly several months ago. Although, Sly later recanted his claims before the documentary aired.

Manning, 39, has officially retired from the NFL and has been placed on the Broncos reserve/retired list. This is likely the reason why the NFL was able to clear him before the other players, who are still in the league, were cleared in the matter.

In 2015, Manning appeared in 10 games and thrown for 2,249 yards while completing 59.8 percent of his passes to go along with nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 29 quarterback out of 37 qualifying players.
