Pro Football Talk tweets that the Chicago Bears have released DT Tommie Harris. NFL Networks Jason La Canfora followed that bit of new up with a tweet of his own and added that the Bears have also released LBÂ Hunter Hillenmeyer and T Kevin Shaffer.
There was some speculation leading up todays decision that the Bears were considering cut Harris so the move is by no means surprising despite the fact that he is three time Pro Bowler. In recent years Harris’s production has declined and when you pair that with the fact that he’s due to make a $2.5 million roster bonus in the coming days, it makes plenty of sense for the Bears.
