NFL News: Packers Give Mike McCarthy A Contract Extension

Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that the Green Bay Packer have added an extra three years to Mike McCarthy‘s current contract which will keep him as the teams head coach until 2015. McCarthy’s new contract will pay him an average salary of $5 million per season which will make him one of the top ten highest paid coaches.

The Packers locked up GM Ted Thompson last week and there wasn’t any question as to whether or not they would be extended McCarthy. Both Thompson and McCarthy’s contracts run until 2015 which will keep the duo intake until then.
