NFL News: Peyton Manning & Colts Discussing Extension

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Indianapolis Colts met with Peyton Mannings agent Tom Condon on Thursday in an attempt to accelerate the negotiations process between the two parties. Mannings next contract should end up making him the highest paid player in NFL history.

Despite the Colts willingness to get a deal done, sources say the Colts will show “financial constraint” on a five-year contract. The sources also mentioned that team president Bill Polian talked about the need to surround Manning with talented players.

This deal appears to be as likely as ever and with the Colts saying all the right things it could be done sooner rather than later.
