In what has been an interesting few years for St Louis Rams FS O.J. Atogwe, he has gone from franchised to cut in less than two years. This report comes from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Atogwe is third safety to cut today, following the dismissals of Bob Sanders (Colts) and Eugene Wilson (Texans). The Rams decision to release Atogwe had more to do with the $8 million bonus he was set to make than his on-the-field performance.
There still remains a chance that St Louis could bring in back but he’ll have a better chance of signing on with a new team this year than last because of the fact that he became a free agent late into free agency last year.
