49ers

Bears

  • New Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio confirmed that LB Shea McClellin will play inside linebacker in the Bears new 3-4 scheme. (Jeff Dickerson)

  • Rookie WR Vince Mayle will undergo thumb surgery after minicamp, but is expected to be a full participant when training camp begins. (Mary Kay Cabot)

Cowboys

  • The Cowboys brought in WR Donte Moore from Rice on a tryout basis. (Todd Archer)

Giants

  • Offensive Coordinator Ben McAdoo clarified that OL Justin Pugh is currently the starting right tackle. (Jordan Raanan)
  • McAdoo also said that a decision has not been made on where to line up first-round pick OL Ereck Flowers, but that the team believes he has the skill set to play left tackle. (Ebenezer Samuel)
  • WR Odell Beckham Jr. has expressed interest in serving as the team’s primary punt returner. (Jordan Raanan)

Panthers

  • DE Rakim Cox, FB Lee Ward, TE Jamie Childers, and CB Ryan White were identified as tryout players who stuck out in Panthers camp. (Joe Person)
