NFL Notes: 49ers, Bears, Rams, Seahawks

49ers

  • 49ers GM John Lynch said they remain committed to finding a long-term solution at quarterback.
  • Lynch didn’t anoint QB Brian Hoyer as their franchise quarterback, but he did say that Hoyer will get the “first crack” at the job. (Matt Barrows)

Bears

Bears CB Kyle Fuller said he is completely recovered from his knee injury and is not concerned about his future with the team.

It was a long process,” said Fuller, via Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “But the most important part is where I am now. That’s all that matters.”

Fuller added that he is focusing on the remaining year of his contract and is not concerned about the team declining his fifth-year option.

I don’t think too much about that,” said Fuller. “I’m really just focusing on coming out here and doing my job everyday.”

Rams

Although Rams HC Sean McVay said Jared Goff is currently the team’s starter, they plan to start whichever quarterback they feel gives them the best ability to win.

Right now, we feel really good about what they’ve both [Jared Goff and Sean Mannion] done,” said McVay, via the Rams’ official Twitter. “Jared’s done a nice job of getting better, but you always want to make sure you’re playing the guy that you feel like gives you the best ability to win football games. Right now, Jared is the starter.”

McVay added that he was surprised CB Trumaine Johnson skipped voluntary workouts on Tuesday, but is not concerned about his absence.

It’s a situation where I continue to remind people that it is voluntary,” McVay said, via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. “We’re not sure where Trumaine was today, but it is voluntary. . . . I’m sure we’ll find out specifically because he’s done a great job this offseason communicating and being here every day. I’m sure we’ll find out a little bit more moving forward.
