NFL Notes: 49ers, Bills, Falcons & Steelers

49ers

49ers HC Chip Kelly told reporters after Sunday’s game that there was a “miscommunication” between the team and Anthony Davis that led to an issue this past weekend.

“There was just a miscommunication, but he was back on Sunday and he had a real good Sunday for us and was good today,” Kelly said, via CSN Bay Area. “Got a chance to get a couple snaps in there at the end.”

Bills

  • Bills HC Rex Ryan said that he isn’t going to rule out LT Cordy Glenn (ankle) from Week 2’s game just yet. (Joe Buscaglia)

Falcons

Falcons HC Dan Quinn said the team will continue to split carries between running backs Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman moving forward.

“We know both these guys are going to be a factor,” Quinn said, via ESPN.com. “We just had two running backs active [Sunday], so for the whole portion of the game, both of them have done significant things really well. We’re going to utilize them both.

Devonta has shown he’s definitely capable of carrying a load all the way through. But the fact that we have two guys that we’re able to feature is important. Both of them are going to be a really big factor in what we’re doing.”

Steelers

  • Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports the Steelers are “hopeful” ILB Ryan Shazier (knee) is just day-to-day.
  • La Canfora adds that Pittsburgh is still waiting for the test results on Shazier’s knee to come back.
