According to Matt Miller of the Bleacher Report, 49ers GM Trent Baalke has “fallen in love” with Alabama WR Amari Cooper and is considering the idea of possibly trading up in this year’s draft for the standout receiver.
Miller mentions that Cooper would like replace Michael Crabtree in the team’s offense, as it appears as though San Francisco could move on without him.
The 49ers have reportedly begun the process of gauging where Cooper could come off the board to get an idea of what it would take to trade up for him.
Miller believes San Francisco would probably have to move up to No. 6 overall, assuming that Cooper makes it past the Raiders at No. 4. This would leave the 49ers ahead of the Bears, who have also come up as a potential option for Cooper.
