49ers

• RT Anthony Davis returned to practice and expects to be ready for Week 1. (Matt Maiocco)

Cowboys

• Free agent acquisition DT Henry Melton is “confident” he’ll be ready for the start of the season. (Brandon George)
• DT Terrell McClain mentioned that he won’t play in this weekend’s preseason game, but expects to be back at practice next week. (Brandon George)

Dolphins

• K Caleb Sturgis‘ roster spot is in jeopardy. He has been limited by a groin injury. (Alex Marvez)

Eagles

• RB Chris Polk is aware that he may not make the team, but expects to practice next week, even if he’s less than 100 percent. (Ed Kracz)

Packers

• Undrafted rookie OLB Jayrone Elliott was working with the first-string special teams unit on Tuesday, which could be a sign of him moving up the depth chart. (Rob Demovsky)

Rams

• LT Jake Long put in full practice on Tuesday, and is expected to play against the Browns this Saturday. (Nick Wagoner)

Titans

• Former Titans LB Tim Shaw announced that he has ALS. (Titans)
