49ers

  • Jason Cole reports that the 49ers plan to ensure that DL Darnell Dockett and ILB NaVorro Bowman are healthy and not overused during training camp practices.
  • San Francisco will keep both players on “pitch counts” this summer, but they aren’t expected to have any limitations during the regular season.

Dolphins

  • Dolphins HC Joe Philbin said of injured first-round WR DeVante Parker: “We’re not sure exactly when he’s going to get back.” (Armando Salguero)

  • Eagles HC Chip Kelly admitted that his decision to regarding WR Riley Cooper from two years ago may have factored into some of the recent backlash he’s received from the team’s players. (Zach Berman)

  1. Best possible scenario for the 49ers would be to hurry & sign Evan Mathias the Left Guard released earlier by the Eagles. Otherwise the right side of the Offensive line anchored by Eric Pears will be the focus of all Defensive Coordinators blitz schemes to the detriment of the 49ers chance at winning football games.
