Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald writes that the rift between Dolphins HC Joe Philbin and QB Ryan Tannehill is in jeopardy of getting wider. According to Salguero, the “damage is done.


  • The Panthers decision to release veteran WR Steve Smith was not based on a belief that he was no longer able to play at a high level. (Ian Rapoport)
  • Instead, Carolina was looking to get younger and cheaper and Smith refused to take a pay cut, which led to his release. (Ian Rapoport)


  • OLB Terrell Suggs (groin) and CB Jimmy Smith (knee, ankle) are set to start today against Panthers. (Aaron Wilson)
