49ers HC Chip Kelly said he’s been impressed by QB Blaine Gabbert‘s athleticism.
“He’s extremely athletic,” Kelly said, via 49ers.com. “It’s interesting, the three of them, if you look at Driskel, Blaine and Kap, they’re all 6-4 plus, and all can run. All of them are at 4.6 (seconds in the 40-yard dash) or under 4.6, which is kind of rare to have three guys that can do the same thing. It’s beneficial to you.
“The one thing that jumped out right away was just how athletic Blaine was. We did not play against him when I was in Philly, so this is really my first exposure to him. But I think his athleticism is the first thing that kind of jumped out at me.”
Kelly also talked up RB Carlos Hyde, referring to him as a “stud” running back.
“Carlos is a stud,” Kelly said. “He’s been full-go since we started in the beginning of April.”
“He is as advertised,” Kelly added. “To have someone that size who is that agile and has that vision, it’s really impressive to see him work every day.”

Panthers HC Ron Rivera mentioned that he’s been pleased with their three drafted cornerbacks — James Bradberry, Daryl Worley and Zack Sanchez.
With this in mind, Rivera said they have no plans to sign a veteran free agent at this point in time.
“I guess if we did do something it would be later on. But right now we’re set,” Rivera said, via the Charlotte Observer. “We’re very happy with what we’ve seen the last two practices with the young guys.”
Redskins third-round CB Kendall Fuller (knee) says he’ll “definitely be good” for the start of training camp.
“Yeah, I’ll definitely be good by training camp,” Fuller said, via Redskins.com. “Right now they’re just taking it slow, so they can see where I’m at for themselves. But moving along quick, just taking it day by day.”
Fuller has yet to receive clearance to participate in on-field work. However, he’s been working with the training staff off to the side.
