NFL Notes: 49ers, Jets, Raiders, Ravens, & Steelers

 

49ers

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the 49ers are planning to discipline DT Ray McDonald with a suspension or by terminating his if he’s is charged with assaulting his fiancee.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office announced that McDonald‘s hearing has been postponed. At this point in time, there is no court date scheduled, but that can change depending on whether or not charges are ever filed.

Jets

  • WR David Nelson mentioned after Sunday’s game that X-rays on his ankle came back negative. He’ll be evaluated on Monday. (Rich Cimini)

Raiders

  • Rookie QB Derek Carr was diagnosed with a sprained MCL and a high-ankle sprain following Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins.

Ravens

  • Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the University of Michigan actually prefer Ravens HC John Harbaugh as a head coaching candidate than his brother Jim Harbaugh, who played quarterback for them several years ago.

Steelers

  • CB Ike Taylor had two plates and 15 screws inserted into his broken forearm this week and expects to be back in six weeks. (Jay Glazer)
