NFL Notes: 49ers, Packers, Raiders, & Redskins

49ers

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area writes it appears that QB Colin Kaepernick‘s protest of the national anthem has brought much the team together.

There’s been a lot of open conversations, a lot more conversations going on in general,” Kaepernick said. “And I think ultimately this team and this locker room have gotten a lot closer because of the gaining of understanding of individuals.”

Packers

Raiders

  • Raiders HC Jack Del Rio said he has not considered decreasing RB Latavius Murray‘s workload and that he would actually like to increase his carries in hopes he could lead to more production. (Rand Getlin)

Redskins

  • John Keim of ESPN says that the Redskins have kept in contact with free agent RB Pierre Thomas, but is unsure of how much interest Washington has in him.
  • Regardless, Keim does not view Thomas as a full-time answer at runningback and could only see him as a fallback depth option.
  • Keim believes the Redskins’ full-time back for 2016 must be Matt Jones, while undrafted rookie RB Rob Kelley could also earn some carries.
