- TE Vernon Davis (back) told reporters there was a “small chance” he’ll play against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Patriots
The Patriots have yet to activate CB Brandon Browner or WR Brian Tyms for Week 5’s game against the Bengals and there is a chance they could wait another week before doing so.
“We’ll make that decision in the next 48-plus hours,” Belichick said, via the Daily Hampshire Gazette.
Belichick added that it takes time for players that have missed time to get acclimated to playing with the other players on the field.
“You could go out there and run laps around the field forever and do sit-ups, but until you put the other 21 guys out there on the field it’s different,” Belichick said. “Guys that miss time, whether it’s a player coming back off an injury or the Tyms-Browner situation or whatever it is, there’s an element to football — reactions, timing, execution — that’s separate from conditioning.”
Redskins
John Keim of ESPN writes Brian Orakpo, Perry Riley, and Brandon Merriweather all need to produce over the remaining 12 games of the season to be back with the team in 2015.
According to Keim, Orakpo’s needs to make more game-changing plays while Meriweather and Riley must improve their ability to hold up in coverage.
Keim mentions that although Riley is under contract for next season, Washington could always release him with the post-June 1 designation and save $3 million in cap room.
