NFL Notes: 49ers, Rams, Texans & Titans

49ers

49ers GM Trent Baalke mentioned that he has been encouraged by RT Anthony Davis since he unretired and rejoined the team.

“Some times you have to get away from something to figure out how much you love it, how much you missed it,” Baalke said, via Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. “I think AD is one of those guys. He stepped away, collected his thoughts, looked at his options, looked at what he wanted to do moving forward and was brought back to the game.

“[I’m] very happy with him. Very happy with the way he’s engaged amongst his teammates. Not only in the offensive line room but the team itself, the locker room.”

Rams

Rams HC Jeff Fisher told reports that veteran Case Keenumis still clearly ahead” of No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff when it comes to their depth chart.

Goff said he’s feeling more comfortable each and every day.

“I feel like every day I am more comfortable, more fluid, more in a rhythm; stuff becomes more natural every day,” Goff said, via ESPN.com. “It’s been going well.”

Texans

  • Aaron Wilson reports that the Texans signed DL Alex Carrington to a one-year deal worth $760,000. The contract did not include a signing bonus and Carrington will carry a cap figure of $600,000 for the 2016 season.
