NFL Notes: Adrian Peterson, Cardinals, Dolphins, Giants

Adrian Peterson

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Vikings general counsel Kevin Warren is the person within the organization who wasn’t in favor of Adrian Peterson returning to the team.

According to Schefter, Warren and the NFL have been working to make sure Peterson did not return this season.

Peterson reportedly has support from the Vikings’ coaches, front office and players, but he believes there is at least one individual who doesn’t wan to have him back.

Cardinals

Dolphins

  • Mike Pouncey has reportedly decided he wants to return to playing center and has made the Dolphins aware of this.“I don’t know when I’m going to, but I’m playing center,” Pouncey told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald last week.

Giants

Bart Hubbach of the New York Post offers some suggestions regarding how the Giants can improve their roster next year.

Hubbach would start by pursuing Jim Harbaugh as a replacement for current HC Tom Coughlin.

Beyond that, Hubbach believes the Giants should keep QB Eli Manning for another season, but make sure he’s entering a contract year and draft a potential replacement. Hubbach suggests FSU QB Jameis Winston.

This could prove to be difficult, but Hubbach mentions that New York has to “beef up” their defensive line and one way to do this would be sign DT Ndamukong Suh.

Hubbach lists Packers WR Randall Cobb and Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin as two players worth targeting in free agency as well, assuming either player is available.

His last suggestion is to bring in a veteran running back like Frank Gore to improve their ground attack.
