NFL Notes: Adrian Peterson, Colts, Jets, Redskins, & Saints

Adrian Peterson

In a Q&A session with Ben Goessling of ESPN.com, Adrian Peterson said he’s open to both playing until 35 or 36 and possibly signing an extension with the Vikings.

“I think if I’m blessed to play [that long], I’ll get a feel,” Peterson said of continuing his career into his mid-thirties. “I think I’ll go off my gut feel. I think I can play for a long time, but I’m just going to take it one year at a time and see how I feel, because I did enjoy myself, realizing how much I was missing, as far as my kids. Just doing simple stuff, taking them to school, picking them up, that was fun to me. I missed that. Unfortunately, it’s during football season. So that could bring my career to an end earlier than expected.

“…I feel like the relationship is that good. The big thing is — because it is a business — is still being productive, being able to perform at a high level. I feel like if I do my part, they’ll do their part.”

Colts

  • Colts rookie WR Duron Carter really stood out on Friday, catching four touchdowns passes. (Adam Schefter)
  • The Colts told Schefter that Carter’s performance “might be the best day we’ve seen from a Colts player after a week in Anderson.

Jets

  • Manish Mehta reports that the Jets received trade inquiries about CB Dee Milliner months ago, and he specifically knows of at least one team that was interested in him as of earlier this week.
  • However, that was before his recent injury.

Redskins

  • Field Yates reports that the NFL intially disapproved of OLB Junior Galette‘s contract with the Redskins, but the two parties were able to reach an agreement that was approved by the league today.
